Latin Name: Copaifera langsdorffii
Part of Plant: Balsam
Country of Origin: Brazil
Method of Production: steam distillation
Copaifera langsdorffii, also known as the Copaiba or Diesel tree, is a tropical rainforest tree native to Brazil, that is a member of the Fabaceae (formally Leguminosae) botanical family. The essential oil is produced by steam distilling the balsam/oleoresin that is obtained by drilling holes into the trunk of the tree.
Copaiba essential oil has a very subtle aroma that blends well with most other oils, yet can be easily overpowered when part of a blend. It may assist with the appearance of skin when properly diluted and applied topically. Consider blending with Lavender for a calming after bath body oil. Try making a blend with Marjoram and Roman Chamomile, and properly dilute in a lotion or carrier oil, for a soothing massage after a long workout. Our new Copaiba oil has over 68% beta-caryophyllene! Compare this to doTerra oil which is less than 50% beta-caryophyllene and ours is half the price!
