Latin Name: Citrus sinensis
Part of Plant: Juice
Country of Origin: Florida, USA
Method of Production: Steam distillation
Orange Essence essential oil is a by-product of the juicing industry. It is different from the traditional oil in that it is produced by the steam distillation of the juice and pulp rather than the steam distillation or the mechanical expression of the peels of the fruit of the Citrus sinensis tree. These citrus trees that can come in different varieties like Navel and Valencia, are a member of the Rutaceae botanical family. Originating around southern Asia, they are now commonly cultivated in many countries around the world.
Orange Essence essential oil is said to be the best smelling Orange oil you can buy. Sweeter and smelling more like the actual juice than the traditional cold pressed oil, it is popular in perfumery. It is also preferred for use in blends and products because it won't discolor your products or cause solubility problems like cold pressed oils can. Its fresh, citrus aroma blends well with most oils including other citrus and wood oils. Try diffusing alone or with your choice of citrus oils and peppermint for an energizing and uplifting aroma to start your day. Also, consider blending with Roman Chamomile, Juniper Berry, and Marjoram and properly dilute in a lotion or massage oil for a soothing massage after a long workout.
